The Mitchell Agency is owned and operated by Allen D. "Al" Mitchell and Shirley I. Mitchell. In the insurance field Dr. Mitchell holds CLU and FLMI designations. He has been an agent, state manager, regional vice president, and executive vice president of insurance companies. Al is past president of the Oklahoma State FLMI organization and Stillwater Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Shirley has been agent, state manager and president of HMK Insurance Agency, Inc., an insurance brokerage that has done business in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and New Mexico. HMK Insurance Agency, Inc., was sold in September of 2003. The couple now has an office near Stillwater, Oklahoma, and is working on their own with personal representation for each client. The Mitchells have been in real estate for several years. Al has been a real estate broker since the early 1970's and has sold land in Oklahoma, at many locations through the years. He has also been involved in sales and trades of land, camp grounds, apartments, shopping centers and rural homes. Shirley began selling real estate in 1995 and has been active in selling land and small town properties since just recently. Both Al and Shirley sold real estate for United Country Real Estate until September 2003. Currently, Allen has returned to United Country Real Estate and is a Broker Associate.

Shirley Mitchell's Retirement

Shirley has decided after 13 years of dedication to the Real Estate industry to retire. Over the past couple of years Shirley has faced some health issues and suffered 2 strokes. For now she will not actively take part in selling Real Estate, but help Al with clerical issues and needs in the office.
